In a light week of economic releases, corporate earnings were the driver behind the market’s negative performance this week, but all three indices managed to post positive returns for the month. Friday’s release of the Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) Price Index was in line with expectations with a gain of 0.3% for the month and 2.7% on a year over year (YoY) basis. The Core PCE, which excludes food and energy, came in below expectations with a gain of 0.2%.
